+>Er zijn verschillende secties binnen de instellingen. De lijst aan de linkerkant toont de verschillende afstandsbedieningen en de verschillende modi. Wat daar geselecteerd is, bepaalt wat er rechts getoond wordt, welke de knoppen van de afstandsbediening verbindt met acties. Het andere tabblad "Geladen uitbreidingen" toont een lijst van toepassingen en afstandsbedieningen die herkent worden en die geavanceerde functies bieden. Sommige gegevens zijn ook zichtbaar door er op te klikken. </para>

+>Afstandsbedieningen en modi</title>

+>Elke afstandsbediening kan een aantal modi hebben. Meerdere modi maken het mogelijk om via dezelfde knop een andere actie te laten uitvoeren in verschillende situaties. Zo kunnen het aantal knoppen op een afstandsbediening beperkt worden. Een goed voorbeeld hiervan is een gedeelde afstandsbediening voor TV/Video/Satelliet &amp; DVD. Voor deze apparaten kunnen bepaalde knoppen op een afstandsbediening gedeeld worden. </para>

+>Elke afstandsbediening kan niet in meerdere modi tegelijk bevinden (het kan overigens ook in geen enkele modus staan). De afstandsbediening heeft ook een "standaard modus", welke de modus is die standaard gekozen wordt wanneer een en ander geactiveerd wordt. Dit kan ingesteld worden onder de knop Bewerken. </para>

Dit pictogram wordt dan getoond in het systeemvak zodra de modus geactiveerd wordt. </para>

+>Er kan een koppeling gemaakt worden tussen een knop en een actie. De actie kan zijn om te wisselen tussen modi, een toepassing starten of om een functie binnen een KDE-toepassing te activeren (via DCOP). </para>

+>Acties kunnen geassocieerd worden met een modus van de afstandsbediening. Indien dat zo is, dan zal de actie alleen worden uitgevoerd wanneer de afstandsbediening zich in die modus bevindt. Acties kunnen ook buiten een modus worden geplaatst. Deze acties zullen dan altijd worden uitgevoerd, ongeacht de modus waarin de afstandsbediening zich bevindt. </para>

+>Om een actie te koppelen aan een knop, kunt u de knop Toevoegen gebruiken. Het ontkoppelen kunt u doen door eerst de actie te selecteren en vervolgens de Verwijderen knop te gebruiken. Bewerken gebeurt via de Bewerken-knop. U kunt acties verplaatsen naar een andere modus door deze er te slepen naar de gewenste afstandsbediening en modus. </para>

Dit bevat gedetailleerde informatie over de toepassingen en afstandsbedieningen die door &kdelirc; ondersteund worden. &kdelirc; kan ook niet ondersteunde afstandsbedieningen en toepassingen bedienen, maar de functie om automatisch de koppelingen te maken is dan niet beschikbaar. </para>
