I didn't like -this lack of interoperability, so I decided to do something about it. After -studying the official MSN-client a little closer, it became clear that the -codec involved was statically linked into the executable, so there was no -easy way to use the codec code through Wine. So for fun, and challenge, I -reverse-engineered the original implementation by studying the massive -amount of assembly code involved, and after a lot of hard work I ended -up with this implementation in C. - -It should be noted that reverse-engineering for interoperability is 100% -legal here in Norway (and in most European countries). - - -THANKS ------- - -Special thanks to Rob Taylor and the rest of the Farsight-team for all -the feedback and inspiration during development, you guys rock! :-) - - -BOTTOM LINE ------------ - -If you like my work and decide to use it in your project, please feel free -to credit me. I put a lot of time and hard work into this, so I hope others -will find it useful. - -Well, enough chit chat, enjoy! :-) - -Ole André Vadla Ravnås -oleavr at gmail dot com - |
